Dr. Vernig conducted this continuing education presentation for RCA Academy opposite 12-Step expert and trainer James Corely. He provided a breakdown of DBT principles and skills applied to substance use disorder treatment and demonstrated the ways in which they support and integrate with 12-Step based programs. Dr. Vernig gave practical suggestions for DBT clinicians working with SUD patients to help integrate skills training with pre-existing knowledge of the 12-Step, and provide DBT skills coaching in treatment programs which utilize a 12-Step methodology.
